WHY EDIBLES AND TINCTURES?

Because both tinctures and edibles have to pass through the gastrointestinal system to enter your body, they offer many of the same benefits. Oral consumption of cannabinoids has been found, in many instances, to provide more extended relief for a longer duration.

EDIBLES

Edibles are orally consumed products that contain cannabis compounds such as cannabinoids or terpenes.

You’re probably most familiar with edible gummies, but there are many other types of edibles, such as:

  • Roches

  • Sublingual Troches

  • Mints

  • Drinks

  • Chocolates

  • Table Sugar

  • Simple Syrup

  • Honey

  • Capsules

  • Freeze-dried fruit

To consume edibles you simply eat them as you would any other food. Dosing will depend on the type of edible product you chose and its cannabinoid makeup. Edibles typically contain either THC, CBD, or a mixture of both.

Taking an edible is fast and simple, which also makes them a great, subtle way to consume cannabis.

TINCTURE

Cannabis tinctures are liquid, cannabis-infused products. The products are made by using a solvent like alcohol to pull the terpenes and cannabinoids like CBD and THC from the plant. Tinctures are typically oil based or alcohol based. The choice of solvent can influence the flavor and consistency of the tincture.

Cannabis tinctures possess a range of practical qualities. They come in a liquid form, making them easy to measure and consume, and are often stored in small glass bottles with dropper caps for precise dosing. These tinctures are versatile in use, allowing for sublingual, ingestible, or edible consumption, catering to individual preferences. With labeled dosages, users have greater control over their intake, helping them find the right dose for their specific needs. When taken sublingually, tinctures offer relatively fast onset times (typically within 15 to 45 minutes), which is appreciated by those seeking more immediate relief. Additionally, tinctures are discreet and free of the strong odors associated with smoking or vaping cannabis, making them a preferred choice for those who prefer to consume cannabis discreetly. Given their consistent dosing capabilities, tinctures are also widely used in medical cannabis treatments.
